Rethinking Fractions: 8 Core Concepts to Support Assessment and Learning is based on a decade of research with over 80 teachers and 2000 students from Grades 3 to 9. The 8 Core Concepts form a trajectory of learning that builds deep understanding of the complex and challenging topic of fractions.
Each core concept contains detailed examples along with assessment questions designed to reveal student thinking and rich tasks to support learning. Throughout, a focus on unit fractions and powerful representations help to support student confidence and understanding.
