Learning Opportunities

Helen Emeny has been a passionate educator for over 25 years. In addition to working as an elementary classroom teacher, Helen has developed her pedagogical skills as a learning coach, Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) teacher, and assistant principal. Most recently, Helen has worked at the division level as an English as an Additional Language (EAL) consultant and has been a guest speaker at local and regional conferences. She holds a SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) Trainer Certificate from the Centre for Applied Linguistics in Washington, D.C. and has facilitated SIOP implementation in numerous classrooms and schools. Helen is entering her final year of a Doctor of Education program through the University of Western Ontario with a dissertation focus in equity pedagogy and transformative leadership practices. Helen strives to work collaboratively with educators in overcoming barriers to student success.
