Does your assignment for 2022-23 include teaching English Language Arts in Grades 7-9?  Whether you’re a first-year or a seasoned teacher this collaborative online community is for you! Join us as we explore the classroom practices that help to  build confident, capable readers and writers.


Our monthly conversations will be teacher-driven and responsive to needs and interests as they arise. These might include, but are not limited to, how we approach:

  • reading and writing skills
  • various genres (i.e. short fiction, non-fiction, the novel, film study, poetry, drama, etc.)
  • formative feedback, including peer feedback
  • summative assessment
  • classroom discourse

Teachers will also have  the rich opportunity to share ideas, resources, strategies and successes.
