Nadine McSpadden is from the Shuswap Band in Invermere, BC. The community makes up one of 17 communities in the Secwepemc Nation. She currently work for Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows (SD42) as an Aboriginal Resource Teacher. Nadine is the author of three of the Mathology Little Books; We Can Bead, Canada’s Oldest Sport, Memory Book. She has also co-written the grade 3 Inquiring Minds Social Studies Modules.
Nadine loves helping teachers truly connect Indigenous Knowledge and Indigenous ways of knowing and being into all areas of the curriculum because she thinks it is really important that our students with ancestry see themselves reflected in what we teach in school.
Kyla Bernard is currently working as an elementary math consultant for Mi'kmaw Kina'matnewey in Mi'kma'ki (Nova Scotia). She was raised and still currently live in Eskasoni First Nation, the largest MI'kmaw Community in Atlantic Canada. She is a mother of 3. In her free time she enjoy walks and spending time with her family. She wrote 2 books with Pearson Canada Let's Play Waltes and Goat Island and developed math lessons for Pearson Mathology.
Kim Mastromartino is an experienced educator, facilitating learning at the National, Provincial and District level. She has over 25 years’ experience working in various roles at the District level and Ministry of Education. Over the years her passion for learning has been driven by experiences as a Parent, Teacher, Consultant, Facilitator, Faculty Advisor.
Currently working as the Planning and Implementation Manager for Math with Pearson Canada and providing support to all things Mathology. Supporting Educators in their learning is at the heart of Kim’s partnerships in collaboration.
