What does it mean to be positively deviant? In this keynote we will explore how positive deviance can help us to reinvent how we work together and develop positive practices to move forward with new possibilities.

Through the pandemic most organizations have had to reinvent how they do their work. This has created a new normal of work and impacted the work culture in many ways. As we move forward, it is important to also reinvent how we support each other as colleagues and teams to build not just a new normal, but a better one.

Join Deborah in this keynote to learn three simple daily practices to build positivity and resilience for yourself and your teammates. Use these practices daily to deviate positively from the norm to create upward spirals in your life and in your relationships with those you work with. Find out how these practices can increase your positive emotion and thereby positively influence your creativity, engagement, and innovation. Shift the dynamics of your communication in a positive way by incorporating them into your conversations.

Deborah will share some of the research behind these practices as we work through them, how they positively deviate from the norm, and will provide examples of how others have used them.

Come prepared to get engaged in what it means to be positively deviant at work and why that matters!

All learning opportunities with the ERLC regional team will focus on the Alberta Education and district priority areas.
