This session will give educators tools and strategies to support students with autism in their own classroom contexts. Autism presents differently in every person, the goal of this session will be to support educators to explore changes that can be made to their own perspectives, behaviours and environments to support students with developmental disabilities. The session will use the SCERTS model as a way to create common language around Social Communication, Emotional Regulation and Transactional Supports. Educators can expect to leave the session with practical strategies and ideas to try in their classroom right away.
