Learning Opportunities

In a world that's in so much flux, it's easy to look at digital literacy as a big whirlpool of confusion. However, let's reframe the topic as a pretty awesome vision and challenge: A digital citizen is inclusive, informed, engaged, balanced, and alert (ISTE)--feel the calm? So, how can we get from here to there? (These are actually burning questions that have kept Janet up at night for literally over 20 years!)

Through some fun digital interactions ourselves, we'll explore digital literacy skills that can help students develop the competencies that lead them towards making this vision a reality. See how we can embed opportunities for students to practise these competencies, at their different stages of development, mindfully throughout our interactions with them at school. And, along the way, let's take this one step further still, and consider as well how we, as the adults in the room, can likewise become increasingly confident that we also have these skills in place.
