Learning Opportunities

This 9 part Professional Learning series is designed to support teachers in Fort McMurray Islamic School (K-9) and Timberlea Public School (K-6) with Mental Health Literacy.  Some of the topics we will feature are the teenage brain, understanding Mental Health and Mental Illness, Identifying Youth who may be struggling, Boosting our own Mental Health, Stigma, a review of the most common Mental Health Disorders, partnering with Parents and How Educators can best support students, responding to traumatic events.

Each session will include an opportunity for teachers to bring their wonderings and questions up for discussion.

All learning opportunities with the ERLC regional team will focus on the Alberta Education and district priority areas.
